INEC extends PVC collection in Osun ahead of guber election

 





The Independent National Electoral Commission( INEC) says it has extended the collection of Permanent Voter Cards( PVCs) in Osun ahead of the governorship election on July 16.


In a statement by the commission’s point person, Oluwaseun Osimosu, on Saturday, INEC said that this was to cinch the collection of PVCs by voters that had yet to collect.

“ INEC wishes to inform the public, utmost especially all eligible voters who have yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards, that they can collect their PVCs at the enrollment areas( wards) from June 22 to June 26.


It added, “ The collection would be between 900a.m. and 300p.m. diurnal. ”

The commission prompted residers awaiting their PVC collection to visit centres with enrollment slips, reiterating that “ collection by deputy isn't allowed. ”


Ms Osimosu also noted that “ PVCs collection is free ” and enjoined those yet to collect their voter cards to use the occasion of the extension period to collect.


She said that the policy of “ no PVC, no voting ” still subsists, noting that INEC would insure that their votes would count during the state governorship election.
